Flights from Toronto to Pakistan: PIA nonstops, connecting fares and what to check
What round trips from Toronto to Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad cost on November 2, 2026, when PIA's nonstop beats the connecting fares, and which entry rules Canadian passport holders should check.
On November 2, 2026, our travel partner's fare data put Toronto's lowest fares to Pakistan's three big airports within CA$20 of each other: CA$1,134 to Karachi, CA$1,135 to Lahore and CA$1,154 to Islamabad. After those first rows the three diverged. Karachi's 20 fares in the data sat within CA$180 of each other. Islamabad's next cheapest after CA$1,154 was CA$2,490. And PIA's nonstop to Lahore cost CA$1,828 on one set of dates and CA$4,344 on another. For fares from US cities, see our guide to cheap flights to Pakistan.
What Toronto to Pakistan flights cost
Here are the lowest and typical round trips from Toronto, plus the cheapest PIA nonstop where we found one.
| To | Lowest seen | Typical | Nonstop |
|---|---|---|---|
| Karachi KHI | CA$1,134 | CA$1,165 | none found |
| Lahore LHE | CA$1,135 | CA$1,808 | CA$1,828 |
| Islamabad ISB | CA$1,154 | CA$2,570 | CA$3,463 |
"Lowest seen" is the cheapest round trip we found from Toronto to each city. "Typical" is the median of the connecting fares we found, and "Nonstop" is the cheapest PIA nonstop round trip, where there was one. All come from our travel partner's fare data on November 2, 2026, for travel between November 2026 and April 2027. They aren't live quotes, and they change daily.
Karachi's typical fare, CA$1,165, is just CA$31 above its lowest, since the 20 fares were close together. Lahore's typical CA$1,808 and Islamabad's CA$2,570 are far above their lowest fares, and the rows show why. Lahore's four cheapest fares, CA$1,135 to CA$1,386, were short November and early December trips. American sold all four, with two stops each way. Nothing else came in under CA$1,746. Two of those four began on November 2, the day the data was pulled, so treat them as price levels, not offers. The data held five Islamabad fares: one Qatar Airways trip in late March at CA$1,154, and four Air Canada trips leaving December 22 to 25 for CA$2,490 to CA$2,956. Those four make Islamabad's "typical" a Christmas price, not a March one.
PIA's nonstops: what they cost and what they save
Every nonstop fare in the data was PIA's, and all went to Lahore or Islamabad. We found none to Karachi, though we searched nonstops only from Toronto, New York, Chicago, Houston and Washington.
| Route | Dates | Fare |
|---|---|---|
| Toronto to Lahore | December 18, 2026 to January 17, 2027 | CA$4,344 |
| Toronto to Lahore | March 19 to April 1, 2027 | CA$1,828 |
| Toronto to Islamabad | December 24, 2026 to January 8, 2027 | CA$3,463 |
Lahore's two nonstop fares show what timing costs. The nonstop cost CA$1,828 for March 19 to April 1 and CA$4,344 for December 18 to January 17, which is CA$2,516 more. The trips also differ in length, 13 days against 30, so the season is not the only factor. For March, a Saudia fare with one stop each way cost CA$1,746 on the same dates, CA$82 under the nonstop, and took about 42 hours for the round trip against the nonstop's 28.
Over Christmas the choice gets harder. The Islamabad nonstop cost CA$3,463 for December 24 to January 8, and the round trip took about 27 hours. An Air Canada fare for the same dates, with two stops each way, cost CA$2,490 and took about 63 hours. You'd save CA$973 and spend roughly 36 more hours in transit. Two stops each way adds up to four stops, which is a lot with small children or an older parent. Our layovers guide covers how much time to leave between flights. The Lahore nonstop over Christmas has the same shape: an Air Canada fare for the same dates cost CA$2,701, CA$1,643 less than PIA's CA$4,344.
Connecting to Karachi
With no nonstop in the data, Karachi means connecting, and all 20 Toronto fares had two stops on the way home. The cheapest, CA$1,134 sold by American, had two stops each way and about 86 hours of travel for the round trip. Qatar Airways fares at CA$1,152 left March 1, 9 or 11, with one stop out and two back. They took about 48 hours. That is CA$18 more than the cheapest fare and about 38 hours less. The details, and what Canada's advice says about Karachi itself, are in our Karachi guide.
Calgary and other Canadian cities
In the data, Calgary had fares to Lahore and Islamabad but none to Karachi. Its cheapest Islamabad fare, CA$1,693 sold by WestJet with two stops each way for March 8 to 31, was CA$74 under its cheapest Lahore fare, CA$1,767. Every Calgary fare connected, though we ran no nonstop search from Calgary. Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton and Ottawa returned no fares to any of the three cities. That is a gap in the cached data, not proof that nobody flies from them. See our guides to flights to Lahore and flights to Islamabad for the city-by-city numbers.
What the Government of Canada says to check
The travel advice for Pakistan, updated October 19, 2026, asks for a high degree of caution across the country. It says to avoid all travel to Balochistan, most of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, and to avoid non-essential travel to the city of Karachi except for named areas.
Canadians need a visa unless they hold a valid NICOP, the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis, which gives visa-free entry. Holders of a valid Canadian passport can apply for an online visa, with some restrictions, through visa.nadra.gov.pk, the portal the advice links to. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date you expect to leave Pakistan, which can be weeks after you land.
Dual citizens have extra steps. If you travel on a Canadian passport, you must present a valid NICOP or a visa. An expired, cancelled or revoked NICOP may mean denial of entry. The advice also says Canada's ability to give consular help may be limited if you are a citizen of both countries. If you were born in Pakistan and a parent is Pakistani, it tells you to confirm your citizenship status with the High Commission of Pakistan in Ottawa, since Pakistan could treat you as a citizen.
If you stay longer than four weeks, you must show proof of polio vaccination when you leave. The vaccination must have been given within the 12 months before departure, and the only document accepted is the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis, which the advice says designated yellow fever vaccination centres provide. In the data, 13 of the 20 Toronto fares to Karachi were for stays longer than four weeks.
