Thailand eSIM: data plans compared, and when a regional bundle pays off
The best value in Thailand's list is a 50 GB plan for 10 days at $25.41. The 180-day 50 GB plan costs less than the 30-day one, and the three-country bundle costs more than three separate weekly plans.
On November 5, 2026, the cheapest gigabyte in eSIMania's Thailand list came with 50 GB for 10 days at $25.41, about 51 cents a gigabyte and only $1.97 more than 20 GB for 30 days. Our eSIM guide covers the install and the phone checks.
Thailand eSIM plans and prices
Ten plans, all data only, with no Thai number. Cheapest first; each size links to that plan on eSIMania.
| Plan | Valid for | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 1 GB | 7 days | $2.40 |
| 2 GB | 15 days | $6.00 |
| 3 GB | 15 days | $6.54 |
| 3 GB | 30 days | $8.19 |
| 5 GB | 30 days | $9.54 |
| 10 GB | 30 days | $15.54 |
| 20 GB | 30 days | $23.44 |
| 50 GB | 10 days | $25.41 |
| 50 GB | 180 days | $77.95 |
| 50 GB | 30 days | $79.25 |
eSIMania's own Thailand page showed the same prices on November 7. It struck out an older price on three plans: 20 GB for 30 days was $26.04, 50 GB for 30 days was $93.24 and 50 GB for 180 days was $97.44.
Which size to buy
Skip the 2 GB plan for 15 days at $6.00. The 3 GB plan for the same 15 days is $6.54, which is 54 cents more for another gigabyte. Stretching the 3 GB plan to 30 days costs $1.65 more, and 5 GB for 30 days is a further $1.35.
From there the rate falls steadily: $1.91 a gigabyte at 5 GB, $1.55 at 10 GB, $1.17 at 20 GB. Twenty gigabytes suits video calls or a laptop on the hotspot, which eSIMania allows on every plan.
At 50 GB the three plans sit far apart. Ten days cost $25.41, a month costs $79.25 and 180 days cost $77.95. The 10-day plan is $53.84 cheaper than the 30-day one although both carry 50 GB, and eSIMania's page doesn't explain why. If your trip is under ten days and you want that much data, it's the one to buy.
Why is the 180-day plan, at $77.95, cheaper than the 30-day plan at $79.25? The discounts. At the struck-out prices the 180-day plan was the dearer one, $97.44 against $93.24, but eSIMania marks it 20% off and the 30-day plan 15% off.
A bundle or separate plans
A bundle holds one pool of data for all its countries, while separate plans give you the full size in each, so compare at the same total number of gigabytes.
Two of these bundles, South East Asia (8 areas) and Asia (14 areas), exist only in eSIMania's November 5 feed. Its own site had no page for either on November 7, so their prices come from that feed alone and aren't a current listing.
| Bundle | 1 GB, 7 days | 3 GB, 30 days |
|---|---|---|
| Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand3 areas listed, including Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia | $3.60 | $11.40 |
| South East Asia (8 areas)8 areas listed, including Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia | $3.30 | $11.20 |
| Asia (14 areas)14 areas listed, including Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia | $3.12 | $10.52 |
| Asia (7 areas)7 areas listed, including Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia | $6.00 | $17.07 |
Take Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand: $11.40 for 3 GB over 30 days. On November 7, eSIMania's site listed 1 GB for a week at $2.40 in Malaysia and $1.95 in Singapore. Add Thailand's $2.40 and three separate weeks total $6.75 for the same 3 GB. The bundle gives you one install and one 30-day clock. It doesn't save money.
If Bali is your second stop, a 3 GB plan for Thailand ($8.19) and one for Indonesia ($7.65 on the same November 5 list) together cost $15.84 for 6 GB. In the feed, South East Asia (8 areas), whose caption lists both countries, was $11.20 for 3 GB, which comes to $3.73 a gigabyte against $2.64. Our Bali first-timer guide covers what you pay on arrival at Ngurah Rai airport.
Which network you may land on
eSIMania's Thailand page doesn't name the network behind its plans. Opensignal's August 2026 report covers the three operators, AIS, DTAC and TrueMove H, using measurements from April 1 to June 29, 2026. On a 10-point scale for coverage of populated areas, AIS scored 8.9 and DTAC and TrueMove H 8.6 each. That is a gap of 0.3 points between the best and the rest.
Region matters more than operator. Opensignal's download speeds for the three operators ran from 54.4 to 59.9 Mbps in its Bangkok Metropolis region and from 33.0 to 34.5 Mbps in its South region. DTAC and TrueMove H completed their merger in 2023, and Opensignal still reports them as two brands.
Before you buy
Your home carrier is the price to beat. On November 7, 2026, Verizon's TravelPass countries page listed Thailand at $12 a day, so a week costs $84 against $2.40 for the 1 GB eSIM. T-Mobile's list of included destinations has Thailand on it too, for qualifying plans.
eSIMania says the countdown starts when you arrive in a covered country, or at once if you install while already there. If the eSIM fails before you've used any data, its refund page offers a full refund when you ask within 14 business days of buying.
Our airport transfers guide explains how much waiting time a pre-booked transfer includes after a late landing. For a long stay, the travel insurance guide covers what a policy pays and how pre-existing conditions affect it.
Frequently asked questions
Which Thailand eSIM plan is cheapest?
On eSIMania's November 5, 2026 list, the 1 GB plan for 7 days at $2.40. Per gigabyte, the 50 GB plan for 10 days at $25.41 is cheapest, at about 51 cents.
Why is the 50 GB plan cheaper for 180 days than for 30?
eSIMania's Thailand page shows the 30-day plan at 15% off a $93.24 list price and the 180-day plan at 20% off $97.44. At list prices the longer plan costs more, so the discounts flip the order.
Is a regional bundle cheaper than a Thailand plan?
For Thailand alone, no. In November 2026, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand cost $11.40 for 3 GB over 30 days, and Thailand's own 3 GB plan is $8.19. Separate 1 GB weeks in the three countries add up to $6.75.
Do these plans include a Thai phone number?
No. They are data only. Calls and messages go through WhatsApp, FaceTime or similar apps over the data.
Which network does a Thailand eSIM use?
eSIMania's Thailand page doesn't say. In Opensignal's August 2026 report, AIS scored 8.9 out of 10 for coverage and DTAC and TrueMove H 8.6 each.
